Verification, transparency and community ratings — how we keep UrbanPG safe.
Our verification process
- Document verification: We collect and check owner ID and property ownership/authorisation documents before listing.
- Physical, on-site visit: Our team visits the property in person to confirm it exists, matches its description and is safe to occupy.
- Photo authenticity checks: Every photo is compared against the on-site visit. Stock or misleading photos are rejected.
- Ongoing owner rating: Students rate their stay after moving in. Owners who consistently underperform are removed.
Tips for students
- Always visit the PG in person before making a final payment.
- Verify the ID of the owner or caretaker on site.
- Don't pay owners directly outside the platform for reservations.
- Report any issue — misleading listing, safety concern, harassment — via our Contact page.
Tips for owners
- Keep your listing (price, availability, amenities) up to date.
- Respond to visit requests quickly — students usually book with the first owner who replies.
- Maintain accurate, recent photos of every room type you list.
